Glass Railings & Balustrades

Frameless and post-supported glass railing systems for decks, balconies, and stairs. Keep the Ozark view, lose the balusters.

A view of Beaver Lake or a wooded Bella Vista ravine deserves better than a wall of 2x2 balusters. Glass railing systems replace visual clutter with a continuous, code-compliant guard that you can see straight through.

Residential guards must resist a 200 lb concentrated load and meet 36" to 42" height requirements depending on application. We engineer each job accordingly: laminated or tempered structural glass, base shoe or standoff anchorage, and top rail options from slim aluminum to solid hardwood, or no top rail at all where laminated glass allows it.

Capabilities

What You Get

Base shoe (frameless) systems

A continuous aluminum shoe grips 1/2" or 9/16" structural glass with no posts at all.

Standoff-mounted glass

Stainless standoffs fix panels to the deck fascia for a floating look that preserves floor space.

Post and clip systems

Budget-friendly stainless or aluminum posts with tempered infill panels.

Laminated safety glass options

PVB and SentryGlas interlayers hold the panel in place even if a lite breaks.

Stair and rake glazing

Precision-cut raked panels for stairs and stepped decks.

Exterior-rated hardware

Marine-grade stainless and thermally stable gaskets for Arkansas summers and ice storms.

Questions

Glass Railings FAQ

Is glass railing strong enough for a deck full of people?
Yes. Guard systems are engineered for the same 200 lb concentrated and 50 plf loads as any code-compliant railing, and laminated glass options retain the opening even if a panel is broken.
Tempered or laminated, which do I need?
Frameless systems without a top rail generally require laminated glass so a broken lite stays in place. With a structural top rail, monolithic tempered is usually acceptable. We spec to your local code.
How does it hold up outdoors?
Glass does not rot, warp, or need staining. Hardware is marine-grade stainless. An occasional wash is the entire maintenance program.
Can you do just the glass for my existing posts?
Usually yes. We field-measure your openings and fabricate tempered infill panels for most post systems.
